I was with Directnic July 2002 to November 2006. They started using TQMCube to filter spam, and it was blocking 100% of email from China. Customer service was actually very good, but hey, in the end they couldn't meet my needs.

I loved DirecNic until they started using TQMCube as their spam filter. Tons of email from legitimate ISPs (Evite, AOL, NBCUniversal, etc.) was being blocked. TQMCube is a horrible spam filter with no nuance and unblocking domains takes far longer than it should. Because reciving email is important to me, I've had to move all of my domains away from DirectNic and I haven't had a problem since.

I can tell you why they experience such growth; they seem to allow spammers to register dozens of domains, then roll through them spamming to sidestep most filters. When informed about this, directNIC throws up their hands and pretends they can't do anything about it and have no control over it.

Passes the problem of false/fake domain info to ICANN and does not take a proactive response when informed. Seems to protect spammers Name servers using the above excuses.
